This week The Whole U launched some exciting updates to our events portal, and we can’t wait to share the changes with you. After 10 years as a program, we knew it was time to improve the user experience and help you to better navigate our variety of offerings!

What’s new:

Home page categories and improved look

When you visit The Whole U website and navigate to our events portal, you’ll find all our activities and resources visually displayed into the following categories:

  • Featured Events: Our most exciting offerings, often something new.
  • Signature Events & Programs: Our largest, most popular offerings.
  • Virtual Events: Webinars, classes and workshops being hosted on Zoom.
  • In-Person Events: Webinars, classes and workshops onsite at UW campuses.
  • Self-Paced Activities: Programs, exercises and activities to follow on your own timeline.
  • Resources: Recipes, handouts, posters and fliers for well-being support.
  • Previously Recorded Events: Quick links to our most recent event recordings on YouTube.

Filtering by pillar

We know you may only be interested in some of our events, so we’ve added on the ability to filter through all offerings for The Whole U pillars you love to participate in.

Looking for fitness, engaging interests and financial related events? Select only those using the new filter tool:

Partner and community events

As The Whole U has grown, so has our network of amazing partners and community classes. You can now sign-up for any offering from The Whole U directly in our events portal.

Soon we are retiring our “Virtual Classes” webpage, providing you a one-stop shop in our events portal.

Looking for a community class you love? Here’s its new home:

Two-step event registration

Part of what makes The Whole U a special program is how closely we work with UW and community partners. Sometimes, when you register for an event on The Whole U site, we give instructions for step two on another website.

Our update will now send you directly to step two making it that much simpler to complete your registration!

Example: You sign up on The Whole U events portal to participate on our team in a local charity 5K. After you click register, your browser will immediately send you to the 5K website to fully complete your registration.

Team events

Over the years, we’ve hosted hundreds of team-based events. We love watching you participate in well-being as a team. We’re thrilled to launch a new way for teams to connect and stay organized when participating in The Whole U events.

New team features include:

  • Designation of a team captain
  • Creation of a team name
  • Unique URL for recruiting team members
  • A team roster updated live within our event portal
  • Custom email templates for captains to share with their teammates

Register for more than one event at a time

At The Whole U, we want to make it easier than ever to get involved in our events and activities. Now when you register for an offering in our events portal, we may recommend additional events for you to also register.

Once you complete your registration, you’ll be automatically signed up for your intended event and the suggested additional events. You’re in the driving seat, you can choose to de-select our recommended add-ons.

Examples:

  • You are registering for UW Yoga Month, and we recommend a yoga class add-on.
  • You are registering for a cooking class, and we recommend a cookbook add-on.

Making it even simpler, you’ll receive one confirmation email from The Whole U email that includes all events you signed up for.

Calendar sync

We all know an organized calendar is the best way to remember all your planned activities! We’re thrilled to share that you can now add an event to your Google Calendar or your Outlook Calendar directly from our events portal, making it a seamless process from registration to attendance.

Updated admin features

We’ve also made updates to our administrative back-end and reporting systems, allowing our team to communicate with you faster than ever and continue to improve your experience with The Whole U program. Thank you to all our amazing program participants who have shared feedback over the years and our HR Information Systems team for making these new features possible!

As a program for UW, by UW—we work every day to better our program and make it easier for you to get involved. We hope these updates do just that!
