Fitness at Work

Fitness at work

Being active can take whatever form moves you, literally. Just move. Move when you can and how you want to. You don’t have to call it exercise. You don’t even have to join a gym; though, if you want to join one, we have a top-notch gym here on campus and discounts at fitness partners off campus too.

So do what moves you. We can’t show you all the ways, but we can give you a place to start:

Train with The Whole U! Whether you are new to exercise, are an avid exerciser, or want to try something different, check out our free online training plans and instructional videos to get you started.

Depending on how far you live from work, you might be able to get your daily exercise during your commute. Consider bicycling or walking to work. If you aren’t sure how to get started, check out your commute options. UW Transportation Services will help you find a commute that best fits your needs.

You’re eligible for membership to one of the area’s premier fitness facilities, the IMA. Reach your health and fitness goals or learn a new sport or skill by signing up for an IMA class. Even if you don’t join the IMA, get moving by hitting golf balls at the driving range or renting a canoe for the afternoon. Find out more ways to stay active and have fun with UW Recreational Sports Programs.

Employees working in the UW Tower have access to the UW Tower fitness center. It features four elliptical machines, two stair stepper machines, two rowing machines, treadmill, sit-up bench, and medicine and yoga balls. The center also hosts a weekly yoga class.
