Join The Whole U and UW Medicine on a journey leading up to the Seattle half and full marathons in November! Build community as we train together and reach new goals. All levels of fitness are welcome to participate, whether you plan to enter the race or are wanting to support the participants by cheering and passing out water.

Joining the UW Endurance Club means participating in any of the following opportunities. We hope to see you at as many events and activities as possible! Stay tuned for various registration details and commit to joining us by signing up for a training plan.

Follow a training plan

Follow along any of The Whole U’s 16 week training plans. Regardless of your fitness level, there is a plan for you. Register now and your plan will be emailed to you on July 31 when we kick off training.

Attend a seminar

This fall, as we continue to build our endurance, The Whole U will host experts in topics from sports nutrition to injury prevention and strength training. Stay tuned for details and expect to see experts from UW Sports Medicine and more!

Attend a run clinic

Form and interval run/walk clinic
Friday, August 11, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Rainier Vista

Join running coach Lauren Updyke for a clinic on running form and interval training as you prepare for fall race season! In this clinic you will learn proper running and walking form, how to interval train, and fun drills to build strength in your hips, gluteals and core. All levels are welcome.

Be sure to bring with you water for hydration and wear clothing comfortable for exercise and active shoes. We will be using the gravel path that wraps around Rainier Vista. Don’t forget to prepare for sun exposure with sunscreen, a hat or other wearable protection.

Skills & drills run/walk clinic
Tuesday, August 29, 5 – 6 p.m.
Rainier Vista

Join running coach Aaliyah Earvin for a clinic to sharpen your walking and running skills as we practice drills for your upcoming race, personal growth or fitness. Walkers and runners will learn movement that can be added to their current routine. After a warm-up, we will break down the drills and finish with a cool-down. All levels are welcome.

Volunteer during the race

Would you love to support UW walkers and runners and all those participating in November? The Whole U will staff a water station and a cheer station on race day. Stay tuned for details to get involved!
