Summer is finally coming to the Pacific Northwest! Ring in the sun season in style with The Whole U’s month of events and activities. Join us in celebrating Pride Month with our Run & Walk with Pride team and our LGBTQIA+ Nonprofit Lunch & Learn. Take the Global Running Day Challenge, go with flow in our online summer yoga series or feel the beats with in-person Zumba. Understand your credit and Social Security. And enhance your personal safety. Join us to get moving, get mindful, get connected!


Daily 15-Minute Movement Break

Every Monday – Friday
11 – 11:15 a.m. / Zoom

Take a break from the grind and join The Whole U on Zoom every weekday for 15 minutes of movement. It could be yoga, stretching, fitness, strength or dance — every day offers something a little different. What’s always the same is the opportunity to pause your brain and energize your body while connecting with others. All are welcome. No experience needed.


Virtual Weight Training with Lauren Updyke

Every Tuesday & Thursday
6:15 – 6:45 a.m. / Zoom
7:15 – 7:45 a.m. / Zoom

Calling all early birds who want to build more muscle into your mornings! Wake up every Tuesday and Thursday with Lauren Updyke for a 30-minute intermediate weight-training class. Each workout covers the total body, focusing on both large and muscle groups and finishing with the core and stretching. All you need is a chair and two sets of weights (between 5 lb. – 25 lb. at least)!


Dance Fitness class with Dalya Perez

Every Tuesday & Thursday
Noon – 1 p.m. / Zoom

Join Dalya Perez for an energizing class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. Reinvigorate your body and mind with a range of dance and workout styles from bootcamp-style jumping jacks and squats to salsa, hip-hop, and meringue. The class is high-energy, and low-pressure. All are welcome, no equipment needed.


Zumba with Karen Cornelio

Tuesdays from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. / Zoom
Thursdays from 6 – 7 p.m. / Zoom
Saturdays from 10 – 11 a.m. / Zoom

Join Karen Cornelio for an energizing Zumba class on Tuesday evenings, Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings from. This class is hosted by licensed Zumba instructor Karen Cornelio on Zoom. Zumba takes the “work” out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party.


Run & Walk with Pride

Sunday, June 2

Lace up and celebrate Pride this June! Join The Whole U and Seattle Frontrunners at the 2024 Run & Walk with Pride, benefiting nonprofit organization Peer Seattle. The race is on Sunday, June 2, in beautiful Seward Park. 🏳️‍🌈 Whether you’re up for a leisurely stroll or a brisk run, pick from 4k and 8k route options. Grab your friends, stretch those hammies, and let’s hit the pavement together to support the LGBTQIA+ community.


Global Running Day

Join The Whole U on Global Running Day June 5 and pledge to run, walk or wheel for one mile or more, helping us reach 2,024 miles together! Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages everyone to get moving. It doesn’t matter how fast you run or how far you go — what’s important is that you take part, enjoy being active and inspire others.


12-Week Summer Vinyasa Yoga Series

Friday, June 5 – Friday, August 23
7 – 8 a.m. / Zoom

Amity Neumeister will guide you through an invigorating yoga flow with continuous and dynamic sequences that benefit your whole being — improving flexibility, muscle, joint and cardiovascular strength, increasing mental clarity and focus, allowing for a harmonious unity of body, mind and soul. Deep breathing and meditation techniques are included. This class is suitable for beginners, intermediate and advanced practitioners.


In-Person Zumba Class

Have some fun, enjoy the sunshine and dance at this in-person Zumba class! Join The Whole U and Daren Wade for Zumba at Harborview Medical Center’s scenic View Park. Whether you are a Zumba pro or trying it for the first time, this class is for you! Please bring a water bottle and a sweat towel if you would like one. Follow your ears to the boom box and look for the instructors in bright pink T-shirts. You can’t miss us!


HomeStreet: Understanding Your Credit

This session is designed to help you get to know what affects your credit, learn why your credit scores may differ, find out how to get a free credit report, and discover effective strategies to improve your credit score. UWCFD Lunch & Learn: Nonprofit organizations serving LGBTQIA+ Communities

Enhance Your Personal Safety with UW Situational Awareness Training

Based on current best practices and tailored to further promote holistic wellness at UW, this training program will deliver objectives and experiences in empowerment through awareness, situational awareness skills and preventive strategies. Learn to navigate various environments with confidence, understanding the dynamics of opportunistic criminal behavior, acquire the ability to assess and interpret surroundings, recognizing potential safety risks, and equip yourself with practical plans and strategies to avoid or evade situations that may compromise your safety.
