Ovations! Coming December 12
Who are you…really? A rocker, a soprano, an actor, or orator? A dancer, juggler, contortionist, videographer or comedian? I have worked with so many people whose talents for things outside of their “normal job” made them who they are, fed their soul, and fueled their creativity on and off the job.
Does this sound like you? If so, get ready because on Friday, December 12 from 7 – 9 p.m. the Meany Theater stage could be yours! The Whole U is thrilled to end 2014 by hosting Ovations!—a one-night only faculty and staff performance showcase. Participation is free, but we can only take a limited number of acts.
If your artistic talent takes the form of canvas, clay, fabric, or glass, we invite you to exhibit your work in the lobby of Meany Theater next to the renowned work of other Northwest artists like Jacob Lawrence and Dale Chihuly.
If you are ready to be cheered on by your colleagues, friends, and family as you show us “What you do when you do you,” email the wholeu@uw.edu a short video of your talent by October 20.
Here’s what you can expect in return:
- A professionally produced show in Meany Theater
- Plenty of seats for your friends and family that are free to all
- A DVD of your performance from UW Video
- Social media attention on Whole U channels ONLY if you want it
- Special gifts to all of our performers
- A crazy good time
Twenty acts will be confirmed and notified via email.
