The Whole U celebrates 10 years of promoting connection, community, well-being and growth

In the blink of an eye, ten years have passed, and we’re thrilled to be celebrating a decade of gathering at the University of Washington, fostering community and connection, and prioritizing our well-being.

The Whole U was launched on January 24, 2014, with a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest kettlebell workout in the world. We not only crushed that goal but also set the stage for countless achievements to follow. As we celebrate our 10-year anniversary, we’re reflecting on the ways our community has united, sharing our passions and commitment to wellness. From large fitness events to signature annual challenges to thousands of virtual touchpoints, we’re honored to have shared amazing memories with our faculty, staff, students and retirees.

To commemorate this anniversary, we invited participants in The Whole U program, from day one to today, to share their experiences. Join us as we look back over the years and celebrate our amazing community!

These stories represent only a fraction of The Whole U’s impact. We’re incredibly proud of our many shared experiences and honored that thousands of Huskies have participated in our programming.

Over the years, we have worked with many amazing partners who share their expertise in well-being topics and support The Whole U programs. Thank you for working alongside us to keep The Whole U for UW, by UW.

Last, but certainly not least, we thank AT&T, BECU, Starbucks and UW Medicine for sponsoring The Whole U. Your support empowers The Whole U program to reach our goals, increase connection and enhance well-being at the University of Washington.
