Upcoming Events: Learn About UWRP and VIP Changes

As UW prepares to transition the UW Retirement Plan (UWRP) and the Voluntary Investment Program (VIP) to TIAA in January 2026, you’ll have many opportunities to get your questions answered. Join virtual information sessions, drop-in office hours, or meet with TIAA representatives on campus to learn how the changes affect you and your retirement planning. Learn What’s Changing in UWRP & VIP 
This session will provide details on the upcoming changes to the retirement plans, including information on your new TIAA account(s), details on how money will transfer from Fidelity, what happens with future plan contributions and a detailed timeline. It will also help you learn more about the tools and resources available from TIAA to help you manage your retirement program participation, including what to expect from a 1:1 financial counseling session.

Have just a few questions? Visit TIAA’s virtual or onsite information desks across UW campuses and medical centers so you can get your questions answered. Stop by to ask a TIAA financial consultant about the changes.

Virtual Drop-In Information Desk:

You can find TIAA financial consultants online on every Monday from October 6 through December 15 from 2 to 5 p.m. or Fridays, October 10 through December 19 from 8 to 11 a.m. You can register in advance or just drop in.

On-site Drop-In Information Desk:

SEATTLE:

Meet with TIAA at the Gateway Building (4320 Brooklyn Ave NE) on Tuesdays October 7 through December 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second floor landing. Walk up the visible staircase in the lobby.

You can also visit Room 337 of the Husky Union Building (HUB) on select Wednesdays from noon to 3 p.m.:

Schedule a personal financial consultation on the UWRP & VIP
Meet online, by phone or in person with a TIAA financial consultant to discuss your specific financial goals and how to plan for them. This service is available as part of your retirement plans at no additional cost to you. Set up a meeting prior to the transition to TIAA to discuss how your new TIAA account(s) will work and receive personalized investment advice that you can put in place for contributions beginning in January 2026.

Meet with TIAA at the UW Benefits Fairs

You can also visit with TIAA’s financial advisors at the UW Benefits Fairs and/or attend an in-person seminar on UWRP/VIP plan changes.

Host TIAA onsite or virtually at a departmental meeting
Bring the experts directly to your team. Departments can request a presentation from TIAA, offered onsite or virtually, to walk your group through the upcoming UWRP & VIP changes and answer questions in real time. If your department would like to host a session, please complete the request form and a representative will work with you to schedule a presentation that fits your team’s needs.
