Step into summer with UW Walk Week and Global Running Day
Lace up your sneakers and join The Whole U this June for a celebration of movement and community during UW Walk Week.
As the summer sun begins to shine, it’s the perfect time to lace up your sneakers and hit the pavement. This season, The Whole U is here to help you get moving with the annual UW Walk Week June 5 – 9, which is made extra special because right in the middle of the week, June 7, is Global Running Day, a day that encourages everyone to stay active and healthy by celebrating the joys and benefits of running.
Register here to join our community of movers and join our guided group walks.
UW Walk Week is a week-long celebration of walking, running and all forms of physical activity. This event encourages participants to get up, get moving and explore the beauty of our city on foot in community with others. Join The Whole U for guided walks, runs and fitness classes to get your body moving! Opportunities will be held at all three campuses and at the medical centers.
And, on June 7, you’ll have an opportunity to join a global community of runners who celebrate the joys of running with Global Running Day! It’s a day to lace up your shoes, hit the pavement and celebrate the power of the sport to bring people together. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting, UW Walk Week is the perfect way to engage in activity with our community.
UW employees can receive a 10% discount for all Seattle Marathon summer events, including the Seward Park 5K, 10K, half marathon and kids’ fun run.
Once registered, you will receive email communication on ways to connect. You can join one of the guided walks or runs, attend a fitness class, or simply explore the city on your own. Whatever your level of fitness, there’s something for everyone during this exciting week
