Huskies Give Blood. Save lives. Help UW win $1 million.
The We Give Blood Drive is back! From August 26 through December 4, the University of Washington is competing against other Big Ten schools to see which community can rally the most blood donors. The winning school will receive $1 million from Abbott to support student or community health.
Last year, Wisconsin won with more than 15,000 donors. Can Husky Nation beat them? Students, faculty, staff, alumni, fans, friends and family can all participateāfrom Washington or anywhere in the country.
How to participate
There are two important actions to make your donation count for UW: make your appointment and, after donating, submit your donation to Abbott.
1. Make an appointment
In Washington: Schedule an appointment with Bloodworks Northwest at a donation center near you or find a UW campus blood drive.

Outside Washington? You can participate at eligible blood centers and blood drives nationwide.
2. Give blood
Donate or present to donate between August 26 and December 4.
Your donation can impact up to three lives. Plus, participants can receive an exclusive Big Ten We Give Blood T-shirt while supplies last.
3. Submit your donation to Abbott
Don’t skip this step! After you donate, submit your donation to Abbott and select the University of Washington so it counts toward UW’s total.

If you’re eligible to donate again before December 4, you can participate more than once. Remember to submit each eligible donation to Abbott and select UW so every donation counts.
