UW Yoga Month

Each fall, The Whole U invites the UW community to celebrate wellness through movement and mindfulness. Since 2014, UW Yoga Month has offered a variety of classes, guided practices and themed resources to help employees and students build balance during busy seasons.

Over the years

UW Yoga Month has evolved into a cornerstone of UW’s wellness culture, engaging thousands of participants across all campuses. The 2024 theme, Restore in 2024, featured more than 20 live and on-demand classes along with daily 15-minute “micro-break” sessions and a departmental yoga program that reached full capacity with 50 participating teams.

The 2023 focus, Yoga for Every Body, emphasized inclusion, representation and accessibility in practice. The 2022 theme, Uplifting Diversity & Inclusion, expanded offerings from BIPOC instructors and introduced hybrid virtual and in-person formats. Earlier years highlighted themes of appreciation, adaptation and acceptance, encouraging mindfulness both on and off the mat.
