Future Huskies explore UW workplaces

UW WorkLife and The Whole U welcomed the next generation of Huskies to campus on April 23 for Take Our Kids to Work Day, a fun-filled day of exploration, learning and community alongside our partners Champ Camp.

Families from across the UW community gathered on the Seattle campus to experience the University through the eyes of their children. Throughout the day, kids had the opportunity to experience what makes UW such a special place to learn and work.

Husky Hunt

The day began with a welcome session and light breakfast before participants headed out on a campus scavenger hunt, exploring UW landmarks, learning campus history and discovering new corners of the University together.

Along the way, participants got a special sticker from the U Book Store and the UW Marketing and Communications team outside Gerberding Hall.

Husky Ballpark inside look

One of the day’s highlights was a special UW Athletics experience at Husky Ballpark, where kids got an inside look at the facility, played softball-themed games, practiced with softballs and had the chance to run the bases.

Afternoon sessions

In the afternoon, families had the opportunity to choose from a variety of optional activities hosted across campus. Experiences included a UW Greenhouse tour, bowling, yoga, student life and residential tours, a driving range experience and outdoor adventure activities with Champ Camp. Thank you to our partners for hosting UW families!

The afternoon sessions allowed families to explore different corners of campus while creating a flexible, family-friendly experience for all ages.

Celebrating family at the UW

Children left campus with new memories, new discoveries and their very own Husky Pups bucket hats, while parents had the opportunity to share an important part of their daily lives with the people who matter most.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered and helped make the day such a success, and a special thank you to Champ Camp for sponsoring the event and helping provide activities and take-home items for participating families.

And a special thank you to The Whole U program sponsors: BECUTIAADecathlon, and Husky Mobile,
